I have been around technology longer than half my life. Starting right out of high school working for a local phone company, I transformed from a pencil pushing operator to a Designer working with VoIP (voice over internet protocols) with one of the three top Wireless Companies. Not only did I just work in the world of technology, I was there @ conception and formation. Just to mention a couple of many fantastic machines that made life so much easier, I witnessed the 1st copy and fax machines. Yes, my early copy days were layers of carbon which supported a callous for years. Shared a land line with 13 other families and remember my first bag cell phone with an antenna the size of a black warrior pencil. I have seen it, touched it, and embraced it.
I now work with SEO, web design, graphics, and social media. My passion is about the technologies behind social media and how small businesses and individuals can benefit from them. I stay very active with self promotion, social bookmarking, social networking, focusing and experimenting on my own personal branding by using this blog and domain name. My focus is specifically on the ways we use the Internet for consumer engagement, marketing, branding, and spreading individual or business brand awareness.
Technology is changing and will continue changing the way we work, think and learn and it is imperative that we keep learning if we are to keep pace and maintain our skill levels as well as marketing ourselves. I am living proof.
